Use the right build
IPTV Smarters Pro and IPTV Smarters (without Pro) are different apps with different interfaces. The Pro build is the one these steps describe and the one we recommend.
Setup Guide
IPTV Smarters Pro is the most universal IPTV player there is — it runs on Android, Firestick, iOS, Windows and Mac, and accepts both Xtream Codes logins and M3U URLs. If you are not sure which app to use, use this one.
On Android, iOS, Windows and Mac, install IPTV Smarters Pro from the Play Store, App Store or the developer site. On a Firestick it is not in the Amazon store, so you will sideload it in the next step instead.
Open Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and enable Apps from Unknown Sources. Install the Downloader app from the Amazon store, open it, and enter the IPTV Smarters download URL. This step is what catches most people out the first time.
Launch IPTV Smarters Pro and accept the terms of use. The app opens on a login screen offering several methods — do not choose the file or single-stream options.
This is the option you want. It pulls the channel list, the programme guide and the on-demand library together, whereas an M3U URL loads channels only and often no EPG.
Type any name you like in the first field, then your username, password and the server URL exactly as we sent them. Case matters. A single mistyped character is the most common cause of a first login failing.
The app downloads the full channel list and guide data. On a first load this takes thirty seconds to two minutes. Do not close the app while it works.
Open Settings, then Player Settings. Set the buffer to two to four seconds and make sure hardware decoding is enabled. These two changes prevent most buffering complaints before they happen.
Worth Knowing
IPTV Smarters Pro and IPTV Smarters (without Pro) are different apps with different interfaces. The Pro build is the one these steps describe and the one we recommend.
You can add several playlists and switch between them from the profile screen, which is useful when testing a trial alongside an existing subscription.
If a stream stutters in the built-in player, set MX Player or VLC as the external player in settings. It occasionally resolves codec problems on older hardware.
Questions
Yes, the app itself is free on every platform. It is only a player — it carries no channels of its own and needs credentials from a provider before it will show anything.
Almost always a typing error in the username, password or server URL, all of which are case-sensitive. Check for a trailing space at the end of a pasted value, and confirm the server URL includes the port number if we supplied one.
Yes, but not from the Amazon app store. Enable Apps from Unknown Sources in Developer Options, install the Downloader app, and sideload it from the official URL. It runs well on a Firestick 4K Max.
