How To Set Up TiViMate

Before you start

• An Android TV device, Firestick or Nvidia Shield
• Your Xtream Codes credentials or M3U URL
• The premium version for recording and multiple playlists (a small one-off fee)

7 Steps To A Working Channel List

1. Install TiViMate

   On Android TV and Nvidia Shield, install it directly from the Google Play Store. On a Firestick you will need to sideload it, since Amazon does not carry it — enable Apps from Unknown Sources and use the Downloader app.

2. Open and add a playlist

   On first launch TiViMate asks you to add a playlist. Choose Add Playlist, then Xtream Codes rather than M3U — the Xtream option brings the programme guide and the on-demand library with it.

3. Enter your details

   Type the server URL, username and password exactly as sent. TiViMate validates them immediately, so you will know within a second or two whether they are correct.

4. Name the playlist

   Give it a name you will recognise. If you later test a second provider alongside this one, the premium version lets you hold several playlists and switch between them from the sidebar.

5. Let the EPG download

   TiViMate fetches the programme guide separately from the channel list, and it takes noticeably longer — one to three minutes is normal on a first run. Leave it alone until it finishes.

6. Build your channel groups

   Open Settings, then Playlists, then Channel groups. Hide the categories you will never watch. A list of fifty channels you actually use is far more usable than fifty thousand you do not.

7. Set the playback options

   In Settings, then Playback, set the buffer to two to four seconds and confirm the decoder is set to hardware. If a specific channel stutters, switching that one channel to software decoding sometimes fixes it.
