Xtream Codes is the login format most IPTV providers issue and most players prefer. Instead of one long playlist URL it gives you three values — a server address, a username and a password — and the app fetches the channels, the programme guide and the on-demand library from them.
The server URL looks like http://example.com:8080 and points at the provider. The username and password identify your line. All three are case-sensitive and all three are credentials — anyone holding them has your subscription.
In IPTV Smarters it is "Login with Xtream Codes API". In TiViMate it is Add Playlist, then Xtream Codes. Choose this over an M3U URL wherever it is offered: M3U carries channels only, while Xtream brings the guide and the VOD library with them.
Type it exactly, including http:// or https:// and the port number if one was supplied. A missing port is the single most common reason a login fails on the first attempt.
Copy and paste rather than typing where you can. Watch for a trailing space at the end of a pasted value — it is invisible and it will fail authentication.
A correct login validates in a second or two. If the app reports invalid credentials immediately, one of the three values is wrong. If it hangs and then times out, the server address is unreachable rather than incorrect.
The channel list appears first, then categories, then the programme guide, which takes longest. On a first run allow one to three minutes before deciding something is wrong.
Worth Knowing
The original Xtream Codes panel software was shut down in 2019. The API format it defined outlived it and is now the de facto standard that most panels and players implement. A provider offering "Xtream Codes" is describing the login format.
We send both. They point at one subscription and either will work — use whichever your app supports. Switching between them changes nothing about your line.
The M3U equivalent embeds your username and password in a single web address. Do not paste it into a public forum when asking for help without redacting them first.
